Heyo folks and welcome to another news! Been quite a while since the last one (but not the longest gap I've ever done). This is due to a number of reasons, but primarily down to my return to full time work hitting me harder than I expected after 6 months of medical recovery time. Additionally, I took a 6-week content break to focus on things at home and to go see my family!
Hibblejaybob Comes to 4K!
With my change of focus to screenshot art, I've made one of the biggest changes to my PC setup in years, with the addition of a 4K monitor!
I've loved taking gaming screenshots for years, but one thing I've regretted is that after cropping, they often come out under 1000-pixels - especially with the whack jerry-rigged system I have to play games on on my oversized monitor. So while the *content* is good, the overall quality has been a bit meh.
BUT NO MORE!
I'm now gaming in 4K and all my screenshots going forward will (hopefully) be much better quality as a result. To the left is one of my favourites so far - you can click on it to open up the lightbox for the full resolution experience!
I'm still streaming in 1K as that's a little beyond my graphics cards limitations, but perhaps in time that will change.
Such a big change has caused some recurrent technicial issues on stream that I'm working through - but after finding some obscure settings on the graphics cards, I'm seeing significant boosts to my games!
Checking out the Star Trek Voyager: Across The Unknown demo
Took some time during my days off to try out the demo for the upcoming Star Trek Voyager game, Across the Unknown. I quite enjoyed my time with the demo - it plays a lot like Fallout Shelter but with an applied storyline.
Not what I would expect to be the go-to format for a Star Trek game, but the setting of Voyager's traumatic toss across the galaxy means it fits pretty well.
The demo did suffer from some performance issues, particularly when the bridge scenes were playing, but as a pre-alpha demo, I can't begrudge that as there's still a lot of development work still to go.
Overall I'm quite looking forward to playing the finished game! There's definitely been a slowdown of Star Trek games in recent years, especially in games not focusing on the Prime/Kelvin universe - so I'll be keeping tuned with the dev progress of the game and who knows, it may even be a stream game one day!
Stream Games Pool
Since the last update, the lineup of games I'm streaming has changed a little, so here's the current lineup! As a reminder, I'm back to work now so my streaming follows the format of 3-streams followed by 6 days off (because I'm at work)
