GTA 5: Sgt Laura McLean & Police Stories
Character Name: Laura McLean
Game: Grand Theft Auto 5 (Heavily modded)
Bio: Laura McLean joined the Greater Los Santos Police as soon as she could. Loving her job, she rose to the rank of Sergeant. Follow her and her fellow officers from roads policing to on the beat, airports to the seas, city to countryside - the many various police forces protect and serve San Andreas, Vice City, Liberty City and the other lands that make up my alternate-history America!
Notes: This content takes place in a highly modified version of the GTA universe, where I've done a lot of design work and worldbuilding. For more information about the designs and other aspects, see here: https://hibblejaybob.co.uk/police-forces/

Out in Blaine County, roads are either quiet country roads or busy motorways - very little inbetween! At the scene of an incident at the side of the motorway, PC Black stands watch for errant cars that may pose a hazard. The vehicles leave their blue lights on to warn other drivers, but sometimes that isn't enough.....

One of the lesser seen emergency vehicles in San Andreas is the incident response vehicles of the Prison Service. Although most emergencies involving prisons and prisoners happen in and around prisons, a small number of IRVs are available for the prison service to respond to incidents further afield.

The screens in the back: equipped with powerful cameras and bright searchlights, NPAS crews can track offenders and missing persons, and gather valuable evidence. There is typically a crew of 3 aboard each helicopter: the pilot, the co-pilot and the duty observer make up the regular crew, with space for an additional observer if needed.

On rare occasions when police on the ground can reach a scene before its too late, the NPAS helicopters can land, and the officers inside can dismount to arrest offenders, or whatever else they may be needed for.
This does give rise to the strange sensation of helicopter officers having to use their legs on a call!

Although the Navy Police have "over-the-fence" powers to stop and investigate civilian crimes near naval bases, not everything requires their attention from start to finish. After finding illicit drugs on a civilian transport driver, the arrested male is handed over to GLSP officers to processed by the civilian police.

On the way to the next station, a red light gives a chance for a brief wave and hello between the NTP and GLSP officers! Although the various police forces look similar, there are differences in how their vehicles are liveried - allowing trained eyes to work out what organisation the vehicle belongs to, while still making all police vehicles easily recognisable to the public.

Sometimes during a pursuit situation, a helping hand appears out of no-where. In the case of this pursuit of a stolen ambulance, it came in the form of a well placed (or poorly placed if your the insurance company) food van parked by the side of the road!
Thankfully the occupants were not aboard, and just as well! The force of the crash tore the side door from the ambulance.
